The walnut tree belongs to the walnut family and is a heartwood tree. With a height of up to 30 m, nut trees can reach 120 – 150 years old, and in some cases even up to 600 years old. The walnut tree grows at between 200 and 700 m above sea level. The noble half-ring porus wood of the native walnut is characterized by its unique design in the heartwood and the wavy flow of the fibers. The uniform structure is particularly suitable for the milling of mountain forms.
The wood is carefully mechanically crafted for 4 hours in a Swiss carpentry, and then hand-worked, polished and refined. The surfaces are oiled for protection. To ensure that the wood does not get any or minor cracks (depending on external conditions) after a longer period of time, glued wooden boards are used for these models.
